Lo, here hath been dawning another blue day
Think, wilt thou let it slip useless away?

What is rhinoseven About?

The rhinoseven project is about helping people redeem their past, realize there is a plan for your life and finding you can be more than you ever thought or hoped. Through the hard lessons I’ve learned, and continue to learn, I hope to encourage others to break out of bondage and into freedom. I focus on three core areas: Mental, Physical and Spiritual.

Sure it sounds like another self-help blog but it isn’t. Self-help is an oxymoron and one of the biggest lies promulgated by society and the psychological community. I explain why through the articles published on this site. But this is why I say that the rhinoseven project is where black meets white. I explore the gray area of truth expounded by the myriad of self-help gurus. The problem with the current paradigm is that there is truth in what is said – it just isn’t the whole truth.

Twice a week (every Monday and Thursday) I post an article that explores one of the three focus areas. I do a lot of reading too so occasionally I’ll post a book review of a recently finished book. You can follow along by subscribing to my RSS or EMAIL updates or by simply checking back with the site.

The Reason Why

A lot of my own story is in the articles I write. I have always been a somewhat shy and introverted person. My belief was that if only I could overcome my shyness I could do something great. But no matter what I tried, every time I looked in the mirror it was the same guy looking back. And no amount of positive thinking, visualization or goal setting could protect me from or heal me after the horrible wounds other people and eventually I would inflict upon myself. Because of where I have been I am much more aware of others who are in the same place. Just like a pregnant lady sees other pregnant ladies everywhere she goes, I see broken and wounded people everywhere I go. But I was able to climb out of the self-deprecating and self-destructive pit and I believe others can too. Which is why I decided to write about my lessons learned and what I think about the self improvement garbage we’re currently being fed.

Just so there are no misconceptions, at the center of my story is God. There is no redemption of your life without God. Hopefully this doesn’t put you off before reading. If you open your mind you might find a life of freedom and joy you never thought possible. I did.
